Sue Reich began quilt making as a young child at her grandmother's farmhouse in Crawford County, Pennsylvania. She was a young mother in Cleveland, Ohio when the current quilt revival began during the Bicentennial. Upon moving to Connecticut in 1980, she participated in the Connecticut Quilt Search Project, and was instrumental in the writing and publication of Quilts and Quiltmakers Covering Connecticut. This experience launched her career in writing books on quilt history, particularly World War I quilts, World War II quilts, Presidential and Patriotic quilts, and various quilt subjects. Her articles on quilt history have appeared in many national magazines. She also lectures nationally and has curated exhibits at The National Quilt Museum, the Huntsville Art Museum, the Museum of Science and Energy, the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum, the Benton County History Museum and the New England Quilt Museum.
