“History Tunes & Tiny Tales” A Children’s Music Program at the Museum of Darien
History Tunes & Tiny Tales” is a vibrant new music program designed for children ages 0–4 and their caregivers, launching this fall at the Museum of Darien. Led by acclaimed vocalist and educator Christi John Bye, this weekly program blends music, rhythm, and imaginative play to introduce young learners to key historical themes in an age-appropriate and joyful format.
MoD’s Annual Meeting & Lecture
Join us for a fascinating lecture, "A Spark in Time, New England Blacksmithing," with a demonstration featuring blacksmith Chip Sowalski from Mystic Seaport Museum. The lecture will be preceded by a plaque presentation to commemorate Darien’s 18th Century Blacksmith Shop Foundation.
CT Open House
Free event for all ages Bring a friend and witness all we have to offer those who enjoy history. You’ll take a step back in time as you tour our current costume exhibit, Darien Dresses Up! and walk through our 1736 Colonial Salt Box house with our educators and curators. Watch a Weaver demonstrate how to spin wool into yarn on our newly refurbished Great Wheel and make sure to save time to enjoy our garden inspired craft project designed for all ages.
