Museum of Darien Receives Historic Preservation Grant
The Museum of Darien is honored to be the recipient of a 2024 CT Historic Preservation Grant. The $10,000 grant from the 1772 Foundation is given in cooperation with Preservation Connecticut for roof replacement at the Bates-Scofield House. A committee of the Museum’s Board of Directors will oversee the project for completion over the next year.

Museum of Darien Announces New Assistant Executive Director
The Museum of Darien is pleased to announce the selection of a new Assistant Executive Director, Emily Koch. In this role, Koch will provide general support to the Executive Director in the areas of operations, management, marketing and communications, and volunteer oversight.

Museum of Darien to Host Annual Meeting and Lecture Highlighting Stone Walls of Connecticut
The stone walls of Connecticut will come alive in a lecture by Sylvia Reiss, taking place on Sunday, March 26 at noon at the Museum of Darien. The lecture is free and open to the public and follows the 11:30 Annual Meeting open only to Museum members.

The Museum of Darien was recently awarded a $9,900 CT Cultural Fund Operating Support Grant from CT Humanities (CTH).
Museum of Darien Hosts Holiday Festivities
The Museum of Darien is hosting several festive holiday activities this December that include a Boxwood Tree Trimming Workshop for adults, a visiting Silhouette Artist, Pictures with Santa, a Holiday Dollhouse Display and a Holiday CraftLab for ages 6-12.
Outrageous Holiday Party and Common Threads Art Show Opening
The Museum of Darien (MoD) is throwing an “outrageous” holiday party and art exhibit reception at 7 p.m. Friday, December 2, at the Museum. The show, “Common Threads,” is an abstract art show inspired by MoD’s historic quilt collection and will feature fresh, colorful artwork in many mediums by the Concepts Group.
