RAISE THE ROOF CAMPAIGN
Please help us preserve one of the most important and vital places in our town’s history.
Help us raise $35,000 this spring to replace the aging roofing system on both our historic Bates-Scofield House, c. 1736 and our research library.
Project to be completed by the end August 2025.

- Twenty-five thousand dollars already has been raised by way of a grant received from the 1772 Foundation and Preservation Connecticut, along with a generous gift from a private donor.
- Rinaldi Roofing, has generously agreed to donate a portion of their materials including red cedar shakes and labor to help us defray the cost.
All donors will be thanked at a special reception following the project’s completion, with additional recognition on our MoD website and our donor appreciation plaque in the Museum.
The Mission of the Museum of Darien is to maintain, collect, preserve and exhibit materials of local historic value and to educate the community about its heritage.
It is through the diligent performance of this Mission that the Museum will bring a greater sense of community to the residents of Darien,
by helping them to understand and to honor and preserve its heritage as they shape its future.
