The time from 1890 to 1990 encompassed great social upheaval and change—including two world wars, the 1918 pandemic, advances in technology, women’s suffrage and the youthquake of 1960s. The evening gowns and dresses on display in this exhibit were worn by, cared for, and ultimately donated to the MoD costume collection by women who lived in Darien.
This much anticipated exhibition celebrates ‘100 Years of Style’ with 27 dresses selected from the Museum’s extensive collection. Designers on display include Oscar de la Renta, Bill Blass, Pucci, Diane von Furstenberg and more.
