The Museum of Darien gives a huge thanks to our interns for all their hard work this summer. From research projects, to costume presentation, to digitalization of our archives, and much more… we couldn’t do it without you!

The Museum of Darien is most thankful for being aw

The Museum of Darien is most thankful for being awarded the 2024 Connecticut Historic Preservation Matching Grant.
This $10,000 grant is from the 1772 Foundation in cooperation with Preservation Connecticut for Roof Replacement at the Bates Scofield House. A committee of the board of directors will oversees this project for completion over the next year. Thank you to our volunteers, Board Members, Teen Docents and artist Jane Mossa, for a brilliant Open House this past Saturday. Guests of all ages enjoyed all we have to offer, and left with their own handmade flower artwork.

Saturday June 8 please join us for CT Open House D

Saturday June 8 please join us for CT Open House Day, now in its 20th year. Featuring guest artist, Jane Mossa from Pink Rhubarb, leading a project inspired from our Colonial Herb Garden, from 12-3pm. Take a tour of the Bates- Scofield House with our guides dressed in period costume, from 12-4pm.
